“AI Blossom” at Experimenta Science Center
Artificial flowers that sense and respond to visitors — and a golden sphere that rises from a 3.2-metre blossom and floats through the hall.
Science centers want visitors to experience technology, not just read about it. For our first solo exhibition at Experimenta, we created a garden of artificial blossoms that notice you.
What visitors met
Sensors inside the flowers register passers-by, so the blossoms react, move and even express feelings. The highlight: a blossom 3.2 metres wide, from which a 1.2-metre golden sphere slowly rises, floats through the air, and lands back inside, enveloped by its petals.
At the “Blossom up Heilbronn” station, visitors designed their own petals and added them to a growing collective artwork.
The result
More than 15,000 visitors and over 9,000 hours of interaction — art, nature and artificial intelligence, fused into one experience.
