FreeMotionHandling — the Flying Gripper
A helium sphere that sees, flies to an object and picks it up — a glimpse of the workplace of the future.
An ultralight carbon ring with eight adaptive propellers carries a rotatable helium sphere with a gripper in its centre. Using onboard cameras and image recognition, it recognises objects and picks them up — no pilot required.
The sphere is navigated by the same indoor GPS proven on the eMotionSpheres and eMotionButterflies. People and machine can interact safely and easily — for example, when working at dizzying heights or in hard-to-reach places.
