SmartBird

Flying like a bird has always been a dream of humanity. Inspired by the herring gull, SmartBird takes off, flies and lands by flapping and twisting its wings — no additional propulsion.

We developed its electronics and programming, including dedicated radio protocols to optimise flight parameters in real time and analyse efficiency in flight.

First shown at the Hannover Messe 2011, SmartBird has since been presented all over the world — including on the TED stage — and has been seen by more than 14 million people.
